Celebrating our 125th Anniversary!
Est. 1898 – 2023

Celebrating our 125th birthday at Cardiff Castle with a performance for the Highgrove Royal Warrant Holders Association at their 2023 AGM.
In 2023, we celebrate an unbroken 125 glorious years of dedication and commitment to traditional Welsh singing with a St David’s Day concert at the historic Cardiff Castle and grounds, entertaining The Highgrove Royal Warrant Holders Association for their 2023 AGM. We couldn’t think of a more magnificent location to be celebrating!
This year started on a high note gaining charity status, registered as a charitable organisation with the Charity Commission for England & Wales. 2023 sees us moving forward with purpose and commitment raising awareness to the practice and advancement of traditional choral music, one of Wales’ leading forms of musical traditions.
We will endeavour to foster a culture of musical appreciation throughout our communities by providing traditional concert performances, private and corporate entertainment, supporting community, charity and fundraising events and last but certainly not least, attending wedding ceremonies.
As a choir we deeply care about our membership, recognising and promoting the many well-being and health benefits that singing in a large group brings, safeguarding the friendships, camaraderie, good health and development of our members.
We recognise the importance of cultural tours home and abroad as being fundamental in preserving tradition, forging relationships across the world, expanding choral awareness and raising the choir’s profile.
We’re pleased to say that after a 3 year tour postponement due to the pandemic, the choir will shortly be setting off for a tour of Malta, with concerts planned on the Valetta waterfront and at the Cathedral of Assumption on the island of Gozo.
Thank you to our family of choristers, the President & Vice Presidents, our professional musicians, the Board of Trustees, honorary members, sponsors, colleagues, friends, customers and all who have so generously supported us throughout the decades, helping us achieve this historic major milestone.
We couldn’t have done it without you and sincerely hope you will continue to support us and celebrate with us during our 125th celebratory year!
And if you enjoy singing – why not come along and join us!
A wonderful occasion and an honour to entertain you!
….Diolch yn fawr iawn….
